We know you have questions. Here are some answers for the ones we've been hearing the most. If you have questions about your tickets not answered here, email boxoffice@americanplayers.org or call 608-588-2361.
We will have many safety precautions in place for the 2021 season. Everyone will be masked while on the APT grounds, with the exception of the actors, and the theaters will only be filled to a maximum 25% capacity. We have made upgrades to ventilation in APT’s Touchstone Theatre, gift shops and other buildings. Find the most up-to-date information here.
We’re calling the first six plays the Summer Season, and there will be one play in each theater at a time. We will be announcing three more productions in the months to come that will play in fall and winter.
Tickets will go on sale for each pair of plays separately, and there will be a number of on-sale dates for different priority groups. People in priority ticket order groups can visit americanplayers.org/my-account and scroll down to the Priority Booking drop down to view your on-sale date. Tickets for Rep 1, An Improbable Fiction and The Mountaintop, will go on sale to the general public on April 26.
Yes! We’ve extended the 25% off pre-season discount through the entire season, and Four-Packs (four tickets for $119 for select performances) will be offered for select performances of each play. Due to this year’s season structure, we cannot offer the 40% discount on autumn performances when purchased along with summer tickets. More information here.
When it comes time to purchase your tickets, you will choose the section, price band and the number of tickets you want to purchase. The ticketing system will choose the seats that best match your criteria, and automatically distance you from other groups.
Yes! To distance your seats from other members of your party, simply add the tickets for one group of seats to your basket, and then return to the same performance and add another group of tickets. The ticketing system will automatically distance those groups.
Due to limited capacity in the theaters, there may be more demand for tickets than supply. To increase your chances of getting tickets, we recommend that your group choose a number of dates that would fit your schedule, and search all ticket types rather than selecting a specific seating area and price type.
Yes! This season, in order to distance on the shuttle bus to the Hill Theatre, we ask that you reserve your FREE shuttle tickets in advance of your performance. You can reserve those tickets here. Shuttle tickets are not needed for performances in the Touchstone Theatre
Yes! There will be a filmed version of each play available to watch online. Tickets for the APT at Home digital plays will start at $32, and be available to watch starting 7 - 10 days after the in-person play opens, and close when that play closes. More on that here.
If you feel ill or off in any way, contact the box office at 608-588-2361 as soon as possible, up to one hour before performance start time, to exchange into another performance, or a digital play. If an exchange is impossible, we will provide a refund.
Not for our audience members. Instead, we will depend on masking, social distancing and asking people who feel ill – even just a little bit – to stay home. We encourage folks who feel they would like further measures in place to choose the digital version of plays.
Yes! Bring your own picnic, or order ahead from Hubbard Avenue Diner. The picnic tables will be socially distanced. Masks will be required on the APT grounds unless actively eating and drinking.
Lower Concessions and Concessions in the Hill lobby will be open, though Touchstone Concessions will be closed this season. We will not offer made-to-order sandwiches, but snacks and beverages will be available to enjoy in the Hill lobby.
The Shops in the Gateway Building will be open before performances, and the Hill Theatre Shop will be open before the show, and at intermission. The Touchstone Shop will be closed this year. Please note that we’ll have to limit the number of people shopping at one time. Visit the Shops at APT page for more information.
While in-person events have been suspended this season, we will still offer virtual Play Talks, Backstage Talks, Sunday Salons and Talk Backs. Midsummer Music will also play on the APT grounds this summer on select weekdays. More information here.
There are a few things that we’ve had to temporarily suspend this season. Those include:
We understand that this may be disappointing. Please know we’ll be bringing these events and programs back in the future.
